I am heartbroken. Maybe there was much more to this than I
have seen; however, I am very disturbed. Assuming that the initial
firing was justified, there is very little cause that I can imagine -
trying to be as forgiving and understanding as I can, for shooting those
attempting to help the wounded. Yes, we expect it from our enemies but aren't we supposed to be better than our enemies? Shouldn't we lead by example? Even worse, it turns out that these
weren't insurgents.

I have been in the situation of deciding whether those I looked at through my sites were hostile or not; however, even though I may have made a mistake on
occasion, I erred on the side of caution. I am much more content to
avoid killing someone even when I was justified than killing an
innocent.
